Shareholders of NOVATEK (MOEX: NVTK) at the annual meeting approved dividends for 2023 in the amount of 78.59 rubles. per share. Total dividend payments include interim dividends based on the results of the first half of the year, amounting to RUB 34.50. per share, specified in press release.
The total amount of dividend payments for the second half of 2023 will be 133.9 billion rubles, reports Interfax. The dividend register closes next Tuesday, March 26th.
NOVATEK’s largest shareholders are Leonid Mikhelson (24.76%) and Gennady Timchenko (23.49%), as well as TotalEnergies (19.4%) and Gazprom (9.99%). The company’s dividend policy involves paying at least 50% of consolidated net profit under IFRS. At the end of 2023, this figure amounted to 463.3 billion rubles. NOVATEK’s net profit under RAS for the year decreased by 17%, to 530.444 billion rubles.
This year, NOVATEK may not receive six LNG tankers from the Korean shipyard Hanwha Ocean, which were intended to export gas from the Arctic LNG-2 project. In particular, three gas carriers were unavailable because their customers, Sovcomflot structures, came under direct US sanctions on February 23. As a result, NOVATEK does not have a fleet for commercial shipments from Arctic LNG-2, despite the launch of the first train of the project.
