Novatek proposed creating a program to support the production of hard-to-recover gas

Full-scale development of hard-to-recover gas reserves (TRIZ) in Russia requires the creation of a special state program that will define support measures. Deputy Chairman of the Board of Novatek Vladimir Kudrin made such a proposal on September 20 at the Tyumen Oil and Gas Forum (TNF-2023). He also added that it would be correct to extend the state support mechanism that applies to LNG equipment to TRIZ development technologies.
The top manager recalled that historically the main gas production region in the country is the Nadym-Pur-Taz region in Yamal. But now its Cenomanian stage (the upper layers of the deposits) has been depleted by 81% and, according to Kudrin, it is necessary to move on to the active stage of TRIZ development.
