Novak: Russia is ready to supply gas via the intact Nord Stream 2 line

Russia can supply gas to Europe through the Nord Stream 2 line that was not damaged by the explosions. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak. He called what happened on the gas pipelines a sabotage.

“Unfortunately, due to sabotage, one thread was damaged, an examination is required, and, accordingly, further decisions are made on the fate of this thread. As for the second line, it is ready, built, and if the necessary legal decisions are made by European colleagues regarding its certification and removal of restrictions, I think that Russia could provide appropriate supplies through this line of the gas pipeline in a short time, ”said the Deputy Prime Minister (quote from RIA Novosti).

He noted that neither the operator of the Nord Stream project, nor Russian structures – Gazprom, Rostekhnadzor – were allowed to investigate the incidents at Nord Stream. According to Mr. Novak, an objective investigation requires the participation of Russian specialists.

Germany, Denmark and Sweden intend create a joint investigation team to investigate the emergency at Nord Stream. Also in the Kremlin considerthat Moscow should take part in the examination of the scenes of the incident and in the investigation itself. Work on Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 was violated on September 26, pressure dropped sharply in gas pipelines. NATO called the damage sabotage, Vladimir Putin – an act of terrorism. In the Kremlin considerthat both pipelines can be restored.
