Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service to monitor fuel prices in certain regions

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting on the situation on the domestic petroleum products market. Representatives of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Agriculture noted the stabilization of prices and the absence of fuel shortages in Russia, reported government press service.

The meeting was also attended by heads of oil companies, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange. Alexander Novak instructed the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service to monitor fuel prices “in certain regions.”

“In most regions, the planned reduction in prices for gasoline and diesel fuel in the small wholesale segment continues in accordance with stock market dynamics,” the government reported.

In September, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that Russian regions faced the threat of fuel shortages. This happened against the backdrop of rising prices and shutdowns for planned repairs at several refineries. On September 21, the government is provisional limited export of diesel fuel and gasoline. On October 6, some restrictions were removed.

At the meeting on October 28, Alexander Novak reported on stabilizing fuel prices at gas stations and in the small wholesale segment, as well as during its supply to agricultural producers. The markup of intermediaries when selling fuel to farmers has almost halved, the government noted.
