Novak announced Azerbaijan's readiness to enter the gas hub project in Turkey

Azerbaijan has expressed a desire to take part in the gas hub project in Turkey, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. According to him, other countries are also interested in the project, but he did not specify which ones.

“This is a project in which both Turkey and Russia are showing great interest. There are other countries showing interest. For example, Azerbaijan is also ready to take part in the project,” Mr. Novak said in an interview with the Turkish state agency Anadolu.

In January 2023, the Turkish Ministry of Energy reported about the start of work on the construction of the hub. Negotiations on the project were suspended in February after earthquakes in southeastern Turkey. In September, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated about the desire to discuss the creation of a gas center with Russia.
