Oil and condensate production in 2023 decreased by about 1%, which, according to Alexander Novak, is due to Russia’s participation in the OPEC+ agreement. “Coordinating the efforts of oil-producing countries within the framework of the deal helps to stabilize the relationship between supply and demand and create a fair price for oil. As of today, the agreement has been extended until the end of this year,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.

Last year, 43 hydrocarbon deposits were discovered in Russia, of which 34 oil and one gas condensate are located in the Volga region. The total reserves for them amounted to 43.56 million tons of oil, 145.5 billion cubic meters. m of gas, 24.5 million tons of condensate.

Russia has become the largest oil exporter to China in 2023, the Deputy Prime Minister said. Imports to this country increased by 24%, to 107 million tons.
