The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the project to build a gas hub in Iran needs to be studied and assessed.
“I think our company”Gazpromwill study this issue. And, if this is really a real, potentially good project, of course, it will… they will participate in it, including Russia,” Novak said.
In June about Tehran’s plans told Iranian Oil Minister Javad Ouji. According to him, the country’s authorities are striving to create a gas hub in the industrial area of Asaluyeh in Bushehr province on the shores of the Persian Gulf and to involve Russia, Qatar and Turkmenistan in this work. Then he noted that “the necessary preparations and planning are underway.”
In July 2022, Gazprom and the Iranian National Oil Corporation (NIOC) signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation worth $40 billion. The document stipulates that the companies will explore opportunities for cooperation in areas such as the development of Iranian fields, joint implementation of LNG projects, construction of main gas pipelines, as well as gas supplies through the territory of Azerbaijan and Russian assistance in completing the construction of gas pipelines from Iran to Pakistan and Oman.
