Non-professional actor and former investigator Alexey Chetvertkov died in St. Petersburg

He played in the folk theater and starred with Konstantin Kinchev

Actor Alexey Chetvertkov died in St. Petersburg. He was 58 years old. People of his profession, and he was an investigator for especially important cases and a deputy district prosecutor, periodically become actors, get into films and often radically change their lives. Some go to a theater school if their age allows, while others exploit their type.

Vivid examples of former police officers are Timofey Tribuntsev, who briefly worked in the department of internal affairs and graduated from a theater institute, as well as Sergei Borisov, with 17 years of police service behind him, to whom director Angelina Nikonova drew attention. She invited Sergei to her film “Portrait at Twilight”, where he became Olga Dykhovichnaya’s partner. Since then, Borisov left his main job and constantly acts in films.

Alexey Chetvertkov could also have a professional acting career. For forty years he participated in the performances of the people’s theater “Glagol”, which arose in Leningrad in 1971 on the basis of the Polytechnic Institute, and now operates at Peter the Great St. Petersburg University. Such groups were very popular in Soviet times. Representatives of various professions came there after work, and among them there were many talented people.

In “Verb” Alexey Chetvertkov played roles that many professionals dream of. This is Lopakhin in “The Cherry Orchard”, Grishka Otrepiev in “Boris Godunov”, the Tsar in “The Tale of Fedot the Archer, a Daring Young Man”. He was involved in the plays “Twelve and a Half Fools in Love”, “The Man Who Had a Heart the Size of a Watermelon”, “The Three Musketeers”, where he played several roles. He appeared on stage together with students, graduate students, and university graduates of different years. All performances were performed for free.

Fate gave Alexey a unique chance – he starred in a movie in 1987, albeit in a small role, but with a great director in the future. This was the debut film “Burglar” by the very talented and early deceased Valery Ogorodnikov, based on the script by Valery Priyomykhov. The film starred musicians Konstantin Kinchev and Oleg Garkusha, and the wonderful actor Petr Semak. The episode also starred the now famous film historian and film critic Oleg Kovalov, who was repeatedly invited to appear in his films by other directors.

There are not many works in the filmography of Alexey Chetvertkov. He played a bus driver in the short film “The Road to Nazareth” and a prosecutor in the series “The Fugitive” by Peter Amelin. But the main thing is that he was involved in theater for so many years, without which, apparently, he could not live.
