Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works (NLMK) (MOEX: NLMK) began the reconstruction of the forging and pressing section, which produces steel blanks for the machine-building complex. This is stated in the message on website companies.
“The reconstruction will allow us to increase the production volume of spare parts by approximately 10% and master the production of large-sized parts. The total investment in the project will be 1.7 billion rubles,” the material says.
The company added that the installed equipment will allow increasing the weight of forgings from 7 to 10 tons and producing crane wheels, dimensional shafts and rollers, bearing housings and other components for repair. NLMK plans to complete the reconstruction by the end of 2023.
In 2022, as the company adds, NLMK’s machine-building complex mastered the production of 3.5 thousand units of new types of products, which is 30% more than a year earlier. This year, NLMK plans to increase the volume of new product output by another 30%.
