Nissan presented a new development plan until 2030 – Kommersant

Nissan Motor presented its development plan for fiscal years 2024–2030. According to this plan, the Japanese manufacturer intends to increase sales by 1 million vehicles by the end of fiscal year 2026 (March 2027) compared to fiscal year 2023, while significantly updating its model line.

Nissan plans to launch 30 new models worldwide over the next three years. Of these, 16 will be electric, and 14 with internal combustion engines (ICE). And by 2030, the Japanese concern will increase the number of new electric vehicle models to 34. Thanks to this, it hopes to increase the share of electric cars in total sales to 40% by the 2026 financial year and to 60% by the end of the decade.

In February, Nissan lowered its forecast for the number of cars that the concern would be able to sell at the end of this financial year to 3.55 million. This was the second worsening of forecasts, with the original plans to sell 4 million cars over the year.

Nissan noted that the deterioration in forecasts was due to a drop in sales in China compared to initial forecasts due to increased competition in the local market and temporary logistics problems.

The manufacturer intends to achieve an operating profit margin of at least 6% in the coming years, mainly due to significant cost reductions, including through the unification of electric vehicle production. In general, their production should fall in price by 30% and by the 2020 financial year the costs will be equal to those of cars with internal combustion engines.
