Nissan intends to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles

Nissan Motor updated its strategic plan development and intends to quickly switch to the production of electric vehicles in Europe. If the company previously stated that by the end of fiscal year 2026 (ends in March calendar 2027) the share of electrified vehicles (hybrid and all-electric) in sales in Europe should be about 75%, now the manufacturer intends to reach 98%.
In addition, Nissan plans to release more electric models. Initial plans included the launch of 23 electrified car models (15 electric and 8 hybrid) by 2030, but now the company intends to increase the number of new all-electric models to 19. As a result, according to Nissan, by 2030 this will increase the share of electrified cars in the company’s global sales to 55% instead of the previously forecasted 50%.
