The number of applications submitted by domestic carriers for the right to operate flights to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan significantly exceeds the number of allocated permits. This is stated in the documents of the Federal Air Transport Agency for the next meeting of the interdepartmental commission (IMC) on the distribution of permits. Vedomosti has reviewed these documents. The meeting is scheduled for October 25, said a representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency.

In July, Vedomosti wrote about the initiative of the Uzbek aviation authorities to increase the number of flights to Russia. In the fall, Russian authorities accepted this initiative and also expanded air traffic with Kyrgyzstan. The maximum number of direct flights between Moscow and Tashkent has been increased from 39 to 50 per week, between St. Petersburg and Tashkent – from 7 to 14, between Moscow and Bukhara and Moscow and Urgench – from 10 and 7, respectively, to 14 flights in each direction. Between Krasnoyarsk and Tashkent the number of admissions increased from 7 to 14 per week.
