Nicolas Cage opens up about filming low-budget movies because of $6 million in debt
Actor Nicolas Cage shared in an interview with 60 Minutes that he had to act in low-budget films because of his debts.
Acting came in handy when he was six million dollars in debt due to bad investments. “The real estate market collapsed and I couldn’t get out of it in time,” he admitted. Cage noted that everything was returned and he did not have to file for bankruptcy. “Work has always been my guardian angel,” he added.
Cage recently suggested that a diet of insects could solve the global problem of hunger. He urged them to eat for the sake of the common good, but did not connect the initiative with his success in cinema.
