Netflix is ending the series after just one season

The streaming platform has not renewed the fiction from the video game of the same name.
No second chance. After airing the first season consisting of eight episodes of resident Evil last July, Netflix decided to cancel it. According to the American media Deadline the low audiences got the better of the series, encouraging the streaming platform to stop fiction altogether.
A bad surprise for the production, the eponymous video game had, in 2020, been a worldwide success with more than 100 million copies sold. This first season of resident Evil would have suffered from the simultaneous release of new episodes of the phenomenon Stranger Things as well as the highly publicized release of The Sandmananother new series produced by the platform.
Always according to Deadline, resident Evil carried by a young female cast composed of Paola Núnez (Deseo) or even Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angel) does not have to be ashamed of its hearings. In one week, the horror and science fiction series has accumulated nearly 72.7 million hours of viewing. A score that dwindled in the following days, excluding fiction from the top 10 three weeks after its release.
The video game story is set in the year 2036, fourteen years after a global apocalypse caused by a deadly virus. Between zombies and other monsters, this fantastic intrigue had already been the source of an adaptation on the big screen. Between 2002 and 2016, Paul WS Anderson had made a saga of six films starring Milla Jovovich. The Netflix series, it stops on a suspense, enough to arouse the dissatisfaction of the fans. The streaming platform does not hesitate to end its programs which it deems insufficiently supportive of audiences. This year alone: Funny by Fanny Herrero, First Kill Where Pretty Smart.
