The average amount of limits on credit cards in July 2022 increased by 1.7% compared to the previous month (68.8 thousand rubles) and amounted to 70 thousand rubles. About it informs National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBCH). Compared to the same period last year, this figure increased by 6.5%.
According to 4,000 creditors reporting information to the NBKI, the average size of credit card limits increased by 6.5% (in July 2021 – 65.7 thousand rubles), and decreased by 7.7% compared to February (in February 2022 – 75.8 thousand rubles).
It follows from the reports of the NBCH that the largest limit on credit cards issued in July 2022 among Russian regions was recorded in Moscow – 105.3 thousand rubles, in St. Petersburg – 87.2 thousand rubles, in the Moscow region – 86, 4 thousand rubles and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – 85.4 thousand rubles.
NBCH Marketing Director Alexey Volkov noted that such indicators are largely due to the general stabilization of the situation in the credit card segment, as well as the effective management of credit risk by banks using card limits. Also, according to him, borrowers with high personal credit ratings (PCR) began to return to this segment, who more often than others take loans for large amounts.
Earlier it was reported that in July this year, Russian banks increased the issuance of overdraft cards to 30,000, which was the highest in the last two years.
