“National Media Group” created a film distribution company

The private media holding National Media Group, whose board of directors is chaired by gymnast Alina Kabaeva, has created the film distribution company NMG Film Distribution. It will be headed by Disney Studios Vice President Vadim Smirnov.
“National Media Group enters a new market segment and announces the creation of a film distribution company, NMG Film Distribution. The company will distribute films in cinemas. The catalog will include feature films that the company plans to show in Russia,” reads the message media holding.
Now NMG Film Distribution is negotiating with leading producers and film companies. The first release will be the cartoon “Yaga and the Book of Spells” by Vladimir Sakov. It will be released on December 29, 2022.
Vadim Smirnov, who headed film distribution, has been Vice President of Theatrical Distribution at Disney Studios since 2019. He previously ran 20th Century Fox CIS. Mr. Smirnov also participated in the premieres of the films “Night Watch”, “Day Watch”, “9th Company”, “Turkish Gambit” and “Union of Salvation”.
