NAMI will sell the former Toyota plant to the Almaz-Antey concern

Former assets of the Russian plant Toyota, which belong to NAMI, will be transferred to Shushary-Avto (Almaz-Antey). About it informs Interfax with reference to the draft resolution of the government of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade told the publication that Almaz-Antey will launch the production of trucks and the E-Neva electric crossover by 2026. It follows from the explanatory note that the adoption of the project will speed up the issue of loading the production capacities of Shushary-Avto. This will make it possible to achieve the target indicators of the Strategy for the Development of the Automotive Industry of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2035.

About that plant Toyota in St. Petersburg will be handed over to NAMI, it became known in March 2023. The Toyota plant in St. Petersburg Shushary, like other car plants of foreign brands in Russia, has been idle since March last year after the start of the special operation. Prior to this, this assembly site worked for 15 years, production was launched in 2007.

Obukhov Plant, part of the defense concern Almaz-Antey, April 27 became management company of the former plant of the Japanese Toyota in St. Petersburg. The very production site of the Japanese manufacturer was bought by Shushary-Avto, a subsidiary of FSUE NAMI.
