The farewell ceremony for Alexander Bachilo, a Soviet and Russian science fiction writer, scriptwriter for the films and television series The Tower, Simple Truths, 33 Square Meters, Golden Mother-in-Law and Tatyana’s Day, is scheduled for this Saturday. “Farewell will take place on August 6 from 11 am to 12 pm in the mourning hall of the crematorium of the Nikolo-Arkhangelsk cemetery. The building is near the entrance to the old territory. This is the Novokosino metro station,” said the wife of the late Katerina Bachilo.
She also notified that the cause of death of the author of bright fantastic prose was the rupture of an aortic aneurysm.
Alexander Bachilo was born on August 12, 1959, his main books were published from 1989 to 2017. And two years ago, a book was republished, the title of which was given by the story “You Can Help the Living”, which warns humanity against the madness of nuclear war.
Bachilo’s post-apocalyptic work, which tells about our descendants forced to survive on the ruins of civilization, was first published in the anthology “Fictions of Pure Water”, released in 1990 as a result of a science fiction seminar as part of the IX All-Union Conference of Young Writers. For connoisseurs of the genre, a small story for many years became exemplary, in fact, a new history of Russian science fiction began with it.
