For the first time, the excellent Irish actor Cillian Murphy received an Oscar. During his thirty-year career, he played many great roles, but only now became a property of the world thanks to the role of American physicist Robert Oppenheimer, the designer of the atomic bomb during World War II, who became a victim of his own discovery. Rumor has it that Murphy will soon replace the retired Daniel Craig in Bond. In any case, his name was mentioned among the contenders by the previous agent 007 Pierce Brosnan at one of the awards preceding the Oscars in Los Angeles. Jonathan Glaser’s “Zone of Interest,” which was a contender, won best international film and was recognized for its sound. “Anatomy of a Fall” is a major European triumph, winner of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, five European Film Academy Awards and the title “Best European Film”, and received an award for Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars. It was written by the director of the film, Justine Trieu, together with her husband Arthur Harry, during a pandemic, when everyone was sitting at home. Receiving the award, Trieu said that the Oscar would help her overcome her midlife crisis. The exit of this family will be remembered as greetings from Europe.
