At the ceremony in Los Angeles, the activist’s ex-husband screamed bitterly louder than anyone else.
Nadezhda Tolokonnikova (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia) from Pussy Riot married John Caldwell. The activist’s chosen one is a crypto-millionaire, a surfer and a vegetarian. Tolokonnikova was single for only 72 hours: just a couple of days before the wedding, she divorced Pyotr Verzilov (recognized as a foreign agent) after 16 years of marriage.
The ceremony took place in gopnik style. The bride wore translucent trousers, over which she put on a white crinoline and a leather jacket. The groom, in a black suit with white stripes on the sleeves and a white shirt, looked somewhat more conservative compared to the bride. However, this was Nadezhda’s decision: she sewed outfits for herself and John.
Tolokonnikova* also baked a huge vegetarian “Napoleon” in the shape of a cross. The bride was led to the altar by her 16-year-old daughter Hera. The wedding ceremony was performed by an Orthodox priest, Father Nathan, who was expelled from the Russian Orthodox Church for supporting LGBT people.
Instead of the Mendelssohn march, the group Ic3peak sang the song “Death No More.” The witness to the wedding was the legendary “grandmother of performance” Marina Abramovic, with the help of whom John Caldwell proposed to his chosen one. The activist’s ex-husband Pyotr Verzilov* was also present at the ceremony: he shouted “Bitterly” the loudest of all.
