Nabiullina: free currency conversion will always be possible in Russia

The Bank of Russia believes that the usual currencies used by holders for exchange (dollar and euro) have become toxic to them. Despite this, the regulator noted that free currency conversion from Russia will always be available.
“There are risks of freezing, and those countries that have them (toxic currencies.— “b”) issue, one might say, they don’t really want us to actively use them … But it will always be possible to change the currency for rubles, ”said Ms. Nabiullina during today’s press conference (its broadcast is available on YouTube).
She added that the regulator is still negative about the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. “We continue to oppose the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment and against free circulation within the country. We continue to discuss all these issues with the government,” concluded Mrs. Nabiullina.
