Lyrical suffering in the summer heat

The beginning of the short summer marathon this year turned out to be stingy with interesting pop novelties, although usually, on the contrary, artists try to be in time for the beach season. It already seemed to us at ZD that everything would end so mediocrely, starting with Sergei Zhukov and stopping at Vanya Dmitrienko. But suddenly, on the eve of the autumn season, the sultry pop men unexpectedly sang, generously laying out their works on the sticky bar counter of the outgoing summer flooded with everything in a row.

The first to revive was the famous pop psychotherapist Yuri Nikolaenko, or NY for short. The artist who writes author’s songs released another story of unrequited love that scrapes the soul to the bottom, when she is everything for him, but he left anyway. Yes, and whether it was a boy, or it was a sweet, but bad dream – it’s not clear.

Nikolaenko’s rhymes, as usual, are uncomplicated and very, painfully (and gnashing of teeth) familiar: blown out – fool – temperature (hello, Maxim Fadeev in Glucose!), shivering – you won’t return, fell in love – crashed, don’t suffer – it will work. Actually, here is a summary of the new verse “Fool” from a popular artist. At the first listening, it seems that the author simply combined (shaking, but not mixing, as James Bond liked) two of his own songs “Nobody” (“And now we are nobody”) and “Fools” (“I love you, fool “).

The only surprise is the rhyme “sad – and” pi “(here is a short word that starts with a cross) with him.” Of course, an indecent word is not sung, because it is forbidden, but it is clearly implied. Yuri cannot do without hooliganism, he is such a macho from Norilsk, the men there are real, harsh and know all sorts of honest words.

Fans suffering from love fever, of course, all this secondary nature is only a joy, and they burst into grateful tears in the comments under any songs of a guy who seems to sing from the heart. True, some drew attention to the similarity of the melodies and suspected that these psychotherapeutic suffering songs were written by a special neural network for the artist. What the hell is not joking, what if they hit a finger in … the sky?

Kravts.

The rap artist Kravets in his latest album “Mantras of Summer” has everything exactly the same, to be honest, to the inside out, but the topics are a little dirtier, of course, as is customary with rappers, but the poetry is a little more complicated. For example, there are talented sound combinations: “I listened to mantras, even there you are” or “vanilla lazy downpour”. But the obvious textual advantage is smoothed out by the excessive simplicity of the music, such an uncomplicated beat barely colored for the mood.

All in all, Kravets ended up with a cynical, sexualized 8-track dance-rap album about how he suffers from love and how he does not cope very well with it. And what suffers – it is not clear whether the girl left him or not – it is very difficult to establish, because the matured 37-year-old rapper tells about his troubled life, although beautifully, but inconsistently and often not to the point. True, in the track “Slightly Drunk” he frankly lays out the truth about his comfortable home life with “love in a dressing gown.” Kravets seems to be hovering between the stormy youth of the capital and calm maturity and is only groping for new, more complex topics for his texts, as if he is trying to figure out how to quietly escape from a too noisy and smoky party so as not to be on the bench of substitute players, among colleagues respected for former merits, mumbling into the microphone about something tricky.

Kravts and Nyu suddenly turned out to be similar not only in their attempts to express themselves through honest and frank creativity, but even physically began to resemble each other, falling into the same type. Only Kravets can be compared with Konstantin Khabensky in the film The Geographer Drank His Globe Away, and Nikolaenko with Yevgeny Tsyganov in The Thaw. And if the first sings of the boy’s rushing soul, then the second devotes everything to the suffering of the girls. But neither one nor the other looks completely real in what they do. Perhaps the most important tracks from them we still hear.
