Museums across the country will honor the memory of those killed in the terrorist attack with a minute of silence

At noon, a funeral peal will sound in Tauride Chersonesus, and a bell will sound in Pskov

The museum community responded to the terrible events at Crocus City Hall. The head of the Union of Museums of Russia, Mikhail Piotrovsky, and the President of the Russian Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM Russia), Vasily Pankratov, proposed to declare a minute of silence on March 24 at 12.00 in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack in the Moscow region. They were supported by the entire museum community.

The day before, on the evening of March 23, members of the public organization “Volunteer Company” lined up on Palace Square with the inscription “Petersburg Mourns” and lit a thousand candles as a sign of solidarity with the victims of the terrorist attack. Immediately after this, a proposal was published to declare a minute of silence at noon on March 24. The museum community supported it immediately.

At 12.00 in Tauride Chersonese, a funeral bell will sound as a sign of grief, and in the Pskov Mirozhsky Monastery of the 12th century, a bell will sound.

The Museum of the World Ocean, located in the Kaliningrad region, will join the action: its ships will sound the horn at 12.00. At the same time, in the Novgorod Museum-Reserve they will ring the Great Bell of the Novgorod Kremlin forty times. The Mozhaisk temples will also ring the bells 40 times.

March 24 has been declared a day of national mourning in Russia for those killed in the terrorist attack near Moscow.
