MTS warned subscribers about an increase in fees for a number of tariffs - Kommersant



In the application of the telecom operator MTS (MOEX: MTSS) a notice appeared about an increase in subscription fees for some tariff plans in April, RIA Novosti reported. The MTS subscription fee, which currently amounts to 545 rubles, will increase by 45 rubles. - by 8.25%.

“We know how important it is to be aware of the current cost of services, so we tell you in advance that from April 11, 2024, the subscription fee for your tariff will change,” follows from the notice in the application. The message also notes that other tariff parameters will remain the same.

In November 2023, the government approved the Strategy for the Development of the Communications Industry in Russia until 2035. According to the document, operators will be allowed to increase communication tariffs above inflation. Such indexation is possible if operators reinvest a significant part of the additional profit received in significant projects for the development of communication networks and the development of new technologies aimed at achieving the goals of the strategy. In December, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko statedthat telecom operators will be prohibited from uncontrollably increasing tariffs above the inflation rate.
