MTS cloud received GOST for hosting banking information systems

Cloud provider CloudMTS, part of the MTS group (MOEX: MTSS), received certification that allows banks to host information systems with company data in a secure segment of the operator’s cloud. The service has successfully passed the test for compliance with information security requirements, the press service reported.
“CloudMTS announces that it has received a conclusion on compliance with the requirements of GOST R 57580.1-2017 for the secure placement in the cloud of information systems of banks and fintech companies containing financial transaction data,” says the CloudMTS press service (quoted from “Prime”).
GOST R 57580.1-2017 is a Russian standard for the security of financial transactions. Its implementation is mandatory for the operation of banks and fintech companies.
MTS cloud storage received GOST for its physical infrastructure, namely two data processing centers (DPCs) in Moscow and one in St. Petersburg, as well as for software and individual provider services for financial organizations. Receipt of GOST confirms that the MTS infrastructure has been tested for compliance with the information security requirements necessary for working with banking data, the press service noted.
CloudMTS Product Development Director Vera Baeva noted that Russian financial organizations have extensive information systems, but not all data is convenient to store within the company’s network. “In addition, there are a number of cases where it is simply impossible to do without transferring systems to an external circuit. The implementation of such tasks is possible only in a protected segment of the cloud,” added Ms. Baeva.
CloudMTS is one of the largest cloud providers in Russia with its own data centers and backbone communication channels. The cloud ecosystem includes solutions in the format of private, public, hybrid clouds, a range of consulting and professional services, data center services and telecom services.
