In addition, approval documents from the Federal Air Transport Agency also received a BAS-200 helicopter-type drone, a new configuration of the Mi-171 A3 helicopter and an improved version of the Ansat helicopter, the press service said.
MS-21 is a medium-haul passenger aircraft with a capacity of 163 to 211 passengers. The project has been running since 2007. Serial production is scheduled for 2024. Until 2030, it is planned to produce about 270 liners. The aircraft is being developed by Irukt Corporation (part of Rostec).
“We are concentrating significant forces and resources on the MS-21 program, because the new airliner will become the flagship of the Russian fleet for decades to come,” said Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec.
In November the government singled out 15 billion rubles to expand the production of MS-21. The authorities also will spend about 44 billion rubles. for the production of aircraft engines, including the creation of the 14 PD-14 engine, designed for the MS-21.
