Mother and Child postpones major projects

Contractors are not ready to enter into long-term contracts for the construction of large facilities due to the unstable situation with suppliers and prices, and the company is not ready to invest in a project with unclear economics, he explains. It was assumed that the Lapino-3 center would be put into operation in 2024. In June, the project of the center, which should include oncotheranostics and radiotherapy, received a positive conclusion from the Glavgosexpertiza.

“We held a tender for the general contract, but now we realized that we can’t build anything. Because not a single general contractor can guarantee a fixed price for a construction project that will last for two years,” said Mr. Khopersky. According to the representative of the network, the Lapino-3 project is not frozen. “The design stage is underway, and we are preparing working documentation. But this year we will not be able to start construction, ”he explained to Kommersant.

The construction of a psycho-neurological boarding school in the same Lapino (“Lapino-5”) for 100 beds and a hospital in Domodedovo for 164 beds was suspended. According to a spokesperson for the group, this is due to “high uncertainty”. In Lapino-3 and Lapino-5, the group planned to invest a total of 6 billion rubles, investments in the center in Domodedovo were estimated at 4 billion rubles.

Andrey Khopersky expects that capital expenditures for the group by the end of 2022 will amount to no more than 600-700 million rubles. According to him, about 500 million rubles. every year the group invests in maintaining the existing infrastructure. The construction of small outpatient clinics will continue: investments in their opening, depending on the format, according to Mr. Khopersky, range from 7 million to 60 million rubles.

Since the end of 2021, Mother and Child has been opening its own MD Lab sample collection points. Now there are two. Development continues: another point is planned to be launched in October, a spokesman for the group said.

The Mother and Child group includes 38 clinics, 10 hospitals and 2 MD Labs. The network was founded by Mark Kurtzer. Group revenue under IFRS for the first half of 2022 amounted to RUB 12.2 billion, adjusted net profit — RUB 2.4 billion. In the ranking of the largest private clinics Vademecum the network “Mother and Child” took third place at the end of 2020.
