Moscow exchange may launch futures on a number of Asian indices before the end of the year

The Moscow Exchange may launch futures for some Asian indices by the end of 2022. Maria Patrikeeva, head of the derivatives market of the Moscow Exchange, told reporters about this to journalists as part of the site’s seminar, her words are quoted by TASS.
“We are now actively looking at the Asian markets and their indices, and we think that before the end of the year we will be able to launch futures on some of them,” said Ms. Patrikeyeva.
Major Asian Stock Indices:
- Hang Seng is the most important stock index of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange;
- SSE Composite – stock index of the Shanghai Stock Exchange;
- KOSPI – Korean stock index;
- Nikkei 225 is one of the most important stock indexes in Japan;
- TOPIX is Japan’s second largest stock market index.
Due to sanctions imposed by the West, the euro and the dollar become to be positioned in Russia as a toxic currency. Against this background, at the end of July, the Chinese currency for the first time took second place after the dollar in terms of trading volume with delivery “tomorrow” on the spot market of the Moscow Exchange. It amounted to 52.8 billion rubles, while with the euro it barely exceeded 41 billion rubles.
