National Commodity Exchange (NTB), which is part of the Moscow Exchange group (MOEX: MOEX), on October 16 launched trading in milk and dairy products. The organizer of the auctions was the EkoNiva company. The press service reported this Moscow Exchanges.

“Today, NTB will host the first exchange commodity auctions for the sale of raw whole cow’s milk with loading into the buyer’s vehicle,” the message says.

Ekonova will produce supplies from its farms in the Bobrovsky and Liskinsky districts of the Voronezh region. The minimum purchase volume is 720 tons. Shipment will occur in uniform batches of 24 tons over 30 days.

Commodity auctions will also be held for the sale of skimmed milk powder, as well as butter with a fat content of 82.5%. Buyers will be able to receive the goods by road or rail at the supplier’s warehouse. The minimum purchase volume is 20 tons.

The President of the Ekonova Group of Companies called the launch of trading an important step towards the formation of a “simple and transparent market price indicator” for milk. This mechanism, he said, will make the market more stable, which “will benefit” both producers and consumers.
