The Moscow government will purchase video surveillance services for more than 23.3 billion rubles. On October 19–20, the Moscow Department for Competition Policy placed six tenders for the provision of services to provide information about video surveillance objects to a single data storage and processing center (ECHD) for five years, Kommersant found.
The Department of Information Technology (DIT) of Moscow explained that the purchases are being made due to the expiration of contracts concluded more than four years ago.
“The new contracts will be for five years. Within the framework of these contracts, video surveillance will be provided at the entrances, in the yards and in public areas, ”the DIT of Moscow added. According to official data from the mayor’s office, there are 213,000 video surveillance cameras in the capital, access to which is also available to employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
