Based on the results of the first half of 2023, both capitals fell out of the top three in the rating of consumer behavior of Russian regions in the e-commerce space compiled by PIM Solutions (the study itself has been published since 2021). Moscow and St. Petersburg dropped to 5th and 6th places, respectively. And the leaders in the ranking in terms of the quality of orders (average bill, share of repurchases, prepayments and time to receipt from delivery points and parcel terminals) were the Moscow Region (rose from 2nd place), Krasnodar Territory (previously it was 5th place) and Tatarstan ( previously 7th place).

The main reason why Moscow and St. Petersburg dropped out of the top three is the relatively low average bill, which is growing more slowly in the capitals than in the regions, says Olga Satanovskaya, CEO of PIM Solutions. For comparison: in Moscow it is 5803.1 rubles, in St. Petersburg – 5707.9 rubles, while in Tatarstan – 6007 rubles, and in the Krasnodar Territory – 6013.9 rubles. As a result, the Russian capital dropped from 28th to 34th place in this indicator, and St. Petersburg – from 27th to 42nd place.
