Against the background of record inflation, almost three-quarters of Europeans (71%) were forced to change their consumer habits to one degree or another, follows from report research company IRI. More than half (58%) save on basic items, including food and heating. One in three (35%) uses savings and loans to pay bills. Other cost-saving measures include switching to discount stores and looking for familiar discounted goods, reducing the cost of going to restaurants and delivering ready-made meals.

According to experts, the recorded changes in consumer behavior can be called the largest since the economic crisis of the 1970-1980s.
