Mordashov topped the ranking of the most impoverished billionaires in 2022 according to Forbes

According to Forbes, in 2022, the fortune of 68 Russian entrepreneurs decreased. The main owner of Severstal, Alexei Mordashov, suffered the biggest losses against the backdrop of sanctions — almost $11 billion. His fortune as of December 20, 2022 was estimated at $18.4 billion.
The magazine also included in the ranking of the most impoverished billionaires in 2022:
- Tatyana Bakalchuk, founder of the Wildberries marketplace, lost $8.3 billion (worth $4.7 billion);
- founder of Tinkoff Bank Oleg Tinkov — $5.9 billion ($0.87 billion);
- businessman Roman Arbamovich — $5.6 billion ($8.7 billion);
- head and main owner of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov – $5.1 billion ($21 billion);
- LUKOIL shareholder Leonid Fedun – $4.2 billion ($7.5 billion);
- founder of the Renova group Viktor Vekselberg – $4.1 billion ($5.2 billion);
- co-owner of NOVATEK and Sibur Gennady Timchenko – $3.97 billion ($20.8 billion);
- co-owner of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson – $3.3 billion ($24.4 billion);
- Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian Copper Company Igor Altushkin – $2.8 billion ($3.4 billion).
At the end of December Bloomberg informedthat the richest Russians have lost almost $94 billion since the beginning of the year. According to the agency, only on the day of the start of the military operation in Ukraine on February 24, their losses were estimated at $46.6 billion.
