The Vakhtangovites call Shalevich a legendary artist, a man of an epoch who devoted his whole life to the theater. At the same time, it is very symbolic that the bust will be territorially installed precisely on the Arbat, where he lived, “torn” between the Vakhtangov Theater and the former Moscow Drama Theater. As it became known to MK, the author of the bust is Philip Trushin, who created the famous monument to Lanovoy, Etush and Yakovlev, as well as the sculpture of Etush at the Novodevichy cemetery.
Recall that Vyacheslav Shalevich joined the troupe of the Vakhtangov Theater in the late 50s, immediately after graduating from the Shchukin School. A dizzying career awaited a handsome young man: roles in theater and cinema, well-deserved fame, gratitude from colleagues and viewers. The last appearance on the stage for Shalevich was the role of Galileo Galilei in the excerpt “The Life of Galileo” by B. Brecht of the play “Pier” on December 1, 2016. The last appearance in the movie, apparently, the role of a paraplegic in the 2015 short film “The Buzz of a Bumblebee”. And before that, he managed to play Allen Dulles in the series “Seventeen Moments of Spring”, Kaifa in “The Master and Margarita” by Yuri Kara, Brezhnev in the television series “The Hunt for the Golden Eagle” – and this is only a small part of the film incarnations of the outstanding actor.
