The development and modernization of regional airports will require about 90 billion rubles. private investment until 2024, Dmitry Tvardovsky, First Deputy General Director of InfraVEB (a design company of the state institute), said on November 29 at the Airport Development 2022 conference. The calculation is based on the need to find extra-budgetary funds for the modernization of 16 airports, which are included in the federal project “Development of Regional Airports and Routes” of the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of the Main Infrastructure (KPMI), an InfraVEB representative explained to Vedomosti. In particular, we are talking about the airports of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Novosibirsk, Voronezh, Stavropol, Murmansk, Grozny, etc.

The federal project on airports within the framework of KPMI is designed for six years until 2024 and assumes the amount of budget financing in the amount of 267.5 billion rubles. Its main task is the reconstruction of runways at 48 airports and the restoration of auxiliary infrastructure (taxiways, aprons, hangars, etc.) at 20 airports. Particular attention is paid to the Far Eastern Federal District, where there are 38 airports planned for modernization.
