“MK” invites poets to take part in the tournament

If you live in Moscow or the Moscow region and at the same time write poetry, this ad is for you.

“Moskovsky Komsomolets” gives start to the next “Tournament of Poets”. Adult residents of the capital and the Moscow region are invited to participate in the competition. If you are even accustomed to write down your shopping list in a supermarket in rhyme, live by the principle of Yuri Olesha “not a day without a line” and are ready to awaken good feelings with a lyre, welcome to our tournament.

Poetic works of at least three stanzas are accepted to a special email address: [email protected]. In order for your work to be immediately seen and read carefully, indicate in the subject of the letter two cherished words: “The Poets Tournament”.

How many days do we have to collect our thoughts? the poets will ask.

We answer:

— Works are accepted until August 31, but not later than this date — the final will take place on September 2.

How many participants will make it to the final?

There will be fifteen finalists.

– Let’s say I reach the final, but how to achieve victory?

– It’s very simple, friends! We are holding a tournament, that is, a full-time competition, where the authors fight, meeting face to face. So we will invite the finalists to speak at our venues and at the press festival – this is where the best of the best will be determined.

One more important question remains to be answered: what will the winners get? They will receive our respect, recognition, their poems will be published in one of the best newspapers in the country – Moskovsky Komsomolets – and posted on the mk.ru website. And, of course, the winners will receive valuable prizes.

Poems on what topics are we waiting for in the first place? We will be very happy if you compose lines about Moskovsky Komsomolets, about journalists and journalism, about the Russian press, which has existed for more than three centuries, and news, without which it is difficult to imagine our life. But the poets’ flight of fancy is not limited to these themes!
