Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin presented awards from the Russian Government to cultural figures. This year, seventeen people became laureates of the award, which has been presented annually since 2005. Among them is maestro Yuri Bashmet, who celebrates his 71st birthday on this day.

In addition to Yuri Abramovich, the government award winners were producer Dmitry Grinchenko and production director Sergei Shirokov, who together with Bashmet prepared the requiem concert, which took place on the day of the 80th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War on the Floating Bridge in Zaryadye on June 22 at 4 am.

The director of the Literary Museum Dmitry Bak also received awards from the Prime Minister for the opening of the museum center “Moscow House of Dostoevsky”, the author of the social project “Circus for Village Children” Sergei Belyakov, and the authors of the production “I am Sergei Obraztsov” Ekaterina Obraztsova and Elena Bulukova.

The director of the State Russian House of Folk Art named after Polenov, Tamara Purtova, and her deputy, Andrei Belyaev, received awards for hosting the VI World Folklore Festival. For the implementation of the national one-act ballet “Under the Vainakh Sky” the prize was given to the performers of the main roles – Adam Abubakarov, Abu Demelkhanov and Adam Shabaev.

Mikhail Mishustin quoted an outstanding scientist, literary critic, and culturologist, Academician Dmitry Likhachev: “Culture represents the main meaning and main value of the existence of both individual peoples and states. Outside of culture, their independent existence loses all meaning.” The Prime Minister noted that in their projects, the laureates turn to the classical heritage and folk art, preserve the memory of the difficult times of national history, find precise words and vivid images to tell people about the main thing in their lives.

The presentation ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova and Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.
