Mishustin expanded the list of IT companies that can receive state accreditation

IT companies engaged in research and development in the field of natural and technical sciences can now receive state accreditation. The decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, informed government press office.

“Companies in the IT sector, whose activities are related to research and development in the field of natural and technical sciences, will now be able to obtain state accreditation, which means they can apply for state support measures,” the report says.

In 2022, the government introduced benefits for IT professionals working in accredited companies. The presence of a company in the register of the Ministry of Digital Transformation gives it the right to claim tax benefits, insurance premiums, etc., and also provides its employees with a deferment for conscription into the army, including as part of partial mobilization. In addition, such companies can receive preferential loans for the implementation of digital technology projects.

On October 11, the Ministry of Digital Development approved a list of 36 types of economic activity, the profit from which will be taken into account when the company is included in the register of IT companies. Among the listed activities are the development or modification of computer programs, the creation of databases and information resources, the comprehensive maintenance of the IT infrastructure, as well as the provision of consulting and expert services in relation to information systems.

On October 1, the government approved new accreditation rules for IT companies, according to which the share of revenue from activities in the IT sector for the previous year should be at least 30% of the company’s total profit. In addition, the average monthly amount of payments to employees three months before the application must be no lower than the average salary in Russia or the region where the company is registered.
