Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a resolution approving the rules for granting subventions to provide housing for those on the waiting list in the annexed regions. The Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, will begin to receive the necessary funding from January 1, 2024.
Residents of the mentioned regions, at their choice, can be provided with housing of suitable footage or a lump sum cash payment for the construction or purchase of a house or apartment. The provided residential premises will be registered in the property. The government clarified that the innovations will affect residents “who were officially recognized as in need of better housing conditions,” TASS reports.
On September 30, 2022, President Vladimir Putin included the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into Russia following the results of the referendums held there. These four regions are under martial law.
