Banks in 2023 will have to spend a lot of money to ensure the implementation of a new payment method using Mir cards – using a smartphone that will generate a QR code. As it became known to Kommersant, the National Payment Card System (NSPK) obliged banks to ensure the acceptance of a new payment method until the end of April 2023. Experts believe that for this it will be necessary to replace up to half of all POS-terminals in retail outlets, of which there are almost 4 million today.
