Mintsifra: Wildberries will not issue new fines to pickup point owners yet

The Ministry of Digital Transformation announced that the Wildberries marketplace will not issue new fines for returning defective goods to owners of pick-up points (PIUs) while “the system is being finalized.” Today, March 16, the company temporarily froze imposition of fines against the backdrop of strikes by pickup point owners.

“Wildberries is fighting the substitution of expensive goods, which are committed by attackers at the points of issue of orders. But we are convinced that such a control system should be transparent for the partners of the marketplace and with the possibility of challenging,” the statement says. Telegram channel Mintsifra.

Since March 9, Wildberries has introduced new rules for pickup point owners. They were going to be charged the full cost of the order if a defect or other product was found when it was returned to the warehouse. Entrepreneurs also complained about the system of payment, motivation, deductions.

In response, the owners of the Wildberries pickup point went on strike demanding that the fines be canceled and the money paid back. The media reported on the closure of pickup points in St. Petersburg, Barnaul, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Bratsk, Ust-Ilimsk, Angarsk, Chita, the Trans-Baikal Territory, Buryatia, Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk. The Wildberries denied strike, and declaredthat with “partners” choosing “uncivilized forms of dialogue”, cooperation will be suspended.

Later today, the company announced the cancellation of more than 10,000 fines and promised to improve its arbitration service. Wildberries promised to “deal with all contentious situations.”
