In particular, the Russian supplier is increasing gas exports to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. According to the head of Gazprom, in 2022, at the request of Beijing, deliveries regularly went beyond the daily contract quantities, as a result, the company exceeded its annual obligations.

“Moreover, also at the request of our Chinese colleagues, on December 31, that is, a few days ahead of schedule, we started supplying the daily volumes envisaged by the contact for the next year. Thus, from January 1, 2023, Gazprom has reached a fundamentally new level of gas supplies to China. This certainly speaks of Gazprom as a responsible supplier and reliable partner. And also about the interest of China, the most promising gas market, in the supply of Russian pipeline gas,” said the chairman of the board.

Gazprom intends to supply gas to China via two more routes: from the Far East and through Mongolia. According to the company, a contract has been signed for the first route, and the second route is being worked out. Annually, Gazprom will be able to supply about 100 billion cubic meters via three routes. gas.

Gazprom has been supplying pipeline gas to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline since 2019. On February 4, Gazprom and the Chinese oil and gas company CNPC signed a long-term agreement on natural gas supplies to China via the Far East route. It was noted that after the project reaches its full capacity, Russian pipeline gas supplies to China will increase by 10 billion cubic meters. m.
