Mikhalkov at the Cultural Forum spoke about duality in Russia

Contrary to expectations, fewer people came to the meeting with Nikita Mikhalkov at the Cultural Forum in St. Petersburg than other discussion panels and round tables gathered in the morning. Perhaps this happened because the meeting with Mikhalkov was scheduled at the end of the first day of the forum, and the cultured people, noticeably tired of the busy schedule, left the Hermitage General Staff building en masse.

Nikita Sergeevich entered the spacious hall under high arches, accompanied by Vladimir Kekhman, leaning on his cane. He sat down at a large round table and invited those gathered to watch a selection from his programs, which, frankly speaking, were bleeding from the real problems of Russian society. Especially problems among young people, where cruelty has long become the norm. Where students beat teachers and, in pursuit of views on the Internet, teenagers cold-bloodedly film corpses.

– Here, on the forum, professional, smart people will probably say the right promising things. But I can’t shake the feeling of duality, when one hand does one thing and the other does another,” Mikhalkov said. – How is it possible that in schools in new territories children study using textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine?

The director called for an assessment of education in the country over the past 30 years. “On the one hand, we see Tavrida, where the guys sing and work wonderfully. Only “Tavrida” should be in every region and small homeland. And this duality… When on the one hand there is the singer SHAMAN, and on the other, the actress Olesya Zheleznyak is not approved for the role in the new film because of partners who do not like her position on the SVO. How is that?” – asked Nikita Sergeevich.

Mikhalkov concluded that God sent us the SVO so that we could try to understand who is who and what is what. It must be admitted that as he spoke, there was a noticeable increase in people in the hall.
