The memorial plaque on the facade of the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum in Kyiv was translated into Ukrainian
The Politika strany telegram channel reports that a memorial plaque has been updated on the facade of the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum in Kyiv. It is noted that the inscription in Russian was removed from there, which said that “the famous Russian, Soviet writer Mikhail Bulgakov lived in this house.”
According to the publication, the new inscription is made in Ukrainian and differs from the Russian version. In particular, the new version does not mention that Bulgakov was a Russian and Soviet writer, and he himself is called “an outstanding resident of Kyivian.” The writer’s museum reported that the changes were agreed with the sculptor of the board, Anatoly Kushch.
The museum’s statement says that it was decided to change the text on the memorial plaque “at the initiative” of the collective, as well as in accordance with the law on Ukrainization.
