Microsoft will not increase salaries to employees in 2023, CEO Satya Nadella said in an internal letter to employees, reports The Verge.
This decision was made due to “macroeconomic uncertainty”. At the same time, Nadella plans to increase the company’s investment in the development of artificial intelligence.
According to the head of the corporation, the salary of senior management, including himself, will also not be indexed. The company’s top managers will have their annual bonuses reduced.
Despite this, Microsoft plans to increase the rate for employees with hourly wages. The staff will continue to receive bonuses from the company in the form of shares.
January 2023 Microsoft reduced about 10,000 employees – this is less than 5% of the total headcount.
