The Russian Steel Association of ferrous metallurgy enterprises complained to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) about the increase in transshipment tariff rates at the Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP) from January 1, 2023. The increase, according to the association, ranged from 8 to 65% for different types of cargo. These data are given in a letter signed by the executive director of Russian Steel Alexei Sentyurin to the Federal Antimonopoly Service dated December 16 (Vedomosti has a copy).
Russian Steel includes companies that produce 98% of Russian pig iron and about 90% of steel and rolled steel, about 63% of pipes. These are MMK, Severstal, NLMK, Mechel, Evraz, OEMK (a subsidiary of Metalloinvest), Industrial Metallurgical Holding, TMK and OMK. Vedomosti sent inquiries to the press services of these companies, as well as NCSP (controlled by Transneft), FAS and the Association of Commercial Sea Ports (AMTP).
