The lobby of domestic ferrous metallurgy enterprises – the Russian Steel Association – criticized the initiative of the New Transportation Company (NPK, part of Globaltrans) to increase the tariffs of Russian Railways for special platforms for transporting coiled steel to the level of the cost of transportation in gondola cars. This is stated in a letter from the association to the FAS dated mid-March (Vedomosti has it).

As follows from the document, earlier the NPC sent a proposal to consider such an initiative to First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov. The company argued the need to increase tariffs by the discriminatory position of gondola cars in such transportation. Now the average rate for a loaded gondola car is 90,000–120,000 rubles. per flight from the factory to the port.
