Meta is preparing a $7 billion bond issue – Kommersant

The Meta company (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) is preparing a new bond issue, reports Bloomberg citing own sources. The company expects to receive about $7 billion from investors in this way.
For Meta, this will be the second issue of corporate bonds in a year. In August last year, the company attracted $10 billion in the first-ever bond issue. Meta was one of the only major tech companies to still not issue bonds. Earlier last year, other U.S. tech giants Apple and Intel also issued their own bonds, raising $5.5 billion and $6 billion, respectively.
According to Bloomberg sources, the Meta bond with the longest maturity – in 40 years – can bring the holder a return of 215 basis points higher than bonds issued by the US Treasury.
The company itself did not respond to Bloomberg’s request for comment on this information.
