Medvedev promised to discuss with the Central Bank the transfer of hryvnia to rubles in Russia

Deputy Secretary of the Security Council and Chairman of United Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, said that he would discuss with the Central Bank the problem of converting Ukrainian hryvnia into rubles in Russia for those who have savings in this currency. At the same time, he noted that the hryvnia in Russia “is unlikely to appear.”
“We will definitely take certain actions here. I will definitely have a talk with the chairman of the Central Bank of Russia. We still need to solve this problem for the future – both in terms of places of exchange and in terms of amounts too, ”Dmitry Medvedev said at a reception of citizens timed to coincide with the 21st anniversary of United Russia (quoted by RIA Novosti).
“The hryvnia does not exist on the territory of Russia, and it is unlikely to appear,” Mr. Medvedev noted.
According to the law, those who permanently reside in Ukraine, but urgently arrived in Russia in 2022, can exchange cash hryvnias for rubles. The established exchange limit is UAH 8,000.
