Media: Toyota has suspended assembly at six factories in Japan

The assembly was suspended amid an interruption in the supply of parts, in particular springs, caused by an explosion at the Chuo Spring component manufacturing plant in Fujioka (Aichi Prefecture). The decision to resume work will be made on the afternoon of October 17.
It is clarified that Toyota has suspended assembly at factories in Aichi and Mie prefectures in the central part of the island of Honshu. There are a total of 14 assembly plants in Japan. They produce cars not only for the domestic market, but also for export.
The explosion at the Chuo Spring plant occurred on October 16, reported company. As a result of the incident, two people were injured, one of them was hospitalized. The drying oven and part of the building where the explosion occurred were also damaged. The causes of the incident are being investigated.
